Fees and Engagement
Professional attention matched to the importance of the matter

We provide a written proposal before paid work begins. It sets out the assignment, deliverables, fee basis and treatment of approved expenses. The size of a transaction helps explain its context, but the price of advisory work depends on the work required.
Engagement structures
A diagnostic assignment examines the issue and recommends a route forward. A defined project covers a specific scope and deliverables. An ongoing retainer reserves an agreed level of advisory or representation support. Hourly work may be appropriate where the effort cannot reasonably be fixed in advance.
The proposal explains which structure applies, how professional time is recorded where relevant and when the client will receive a progress or budget review.
Fees and other costs
Travel, interpretation, local advisers, technical reviews and official charges may be separate from the firm’s professional fees. Material third-party costs should be identified and approved before commitment.
Any referral arrangement, commission or proposed outcome-related fee requires express disclosure, legal assessment where relevant and written agreement. It is not assumed to be part of every service.
Questions about working together
Can you guarantee that the matter will be resolved?
No. We can commit to an agreed scope of professional work. Decisions by counterparties, institutions and authorities remain outside our control.
Is the first conversation free?
Any charge for an introductory or diagnostic consultation will be confirmed before you book. Sending an inquiry does not authorize billable work.
Do you take smaller matters?
We assess the complexity, stakes and professional effort required. Some matters are better served by a focused specialist or direct contact with the institution.
Can you act without naming the client?
An initial summary can be limited, but we need sufficient identity and authority information to assess a mandate. Required disclosures also apply.
Will I know who is working on my matter?
The engagement proposal should identify the lead representative and any material specialist roles, including separately appointed providers.
How long will the assignment take?
The proposal sets milestones where possible. External decisions and the availability of other parties may affect the timetable.
Can the scope change?
Yes, through a written revision addressing the additional work, cost and timing. A changed objective should be matched by an updated mandate.
Can I stop the engagement?
Termination arrangements, notice and payment for completed work are set out in the engagement agreement.
